Appeal for information after assault on woman - Sannox View, Ayr

Police are appealing for information after a 33-year-old woman was assaulted in Sannox View, Ayr on Sunday, 19 December, 2021.

Between 6.30pm and 7pm on Sunday night, the woman was attacked by a man who approached her from behind at the steps at Sannox View leading to Main Road, Ayr. She sustained injuries to her face which did not require medical attention at the time.

The suspect is described as white and was wearing a black jacket, with brown shoes.

PC David Murdoch is appealing for information. He said:

"At this time we believe that this was an isolated incident and there is no danger to the wider public.

"The area where the attack took place is residential and I am sure that someone will have either seen or heard something which will assist our enquiry. If you have any information that may help, then please call officers at Ayr Police Station via 101, quoting reference number 2487 of Sunday, 20 December, 2021.
