Appeal after item on fire thrown towards premises in Strathaven
Police in South Lanarkshire are appealing for information after an item on fire was thrown towards a premises in Strathaven.
The incident happened around 8.15pm on Thursday, 2 December, 2021 on Common Green.
There were no reports of any injuries and a small fire was extinguished at the scene.
Officers have been reviewing CCTV and are keen to trace a man seen in the area around the time of the incident.
He is described as being of slim build, wearing a grey North Face jacket with the hood up, a full face balaclava or similar and dark trousers.
He was last seen on Waterside Street heading towards the junction with Barn Street and Green Street.
Enquiries are ongoing and officers are appealing for anyone with any information to get in touch.
Detective Sergeant Graham McAdam said: “There were people in the area at the time of the incident and I would appeal to anyone who saw anything or anyone matching the description above to contact us.”
