Serious road crash, A841 at Sannox Bridge, Arran
Police Scotland is appealing for information following a serious road crash which occurred in Arran on Thursday, 19 August, 2021.
Around 2.55pm a 71-year-old man was cycling north along the A841 at Sannox Bridge, Shore Road, and appears to have lost control, falling onto the southbound carriageway.
Emergency services attended and the man was taken by air ambulance to Crosshouse Hospital for treatment. Medical staff describe his condition as critical.
Sergeant Craig Beaver from the Divisional Road Policing Unit based at Irvine said:
“The road was relatively busy at the time of the incident, with other cyclists and motorists, and is important we speak to anyone who may have information to help us establish the full circumstances.
“I am appealing for any witness to get in touch and would also urge motorists with dash-cams, who were travelling on the A841 at the time, to please check their footage in case they have captured anything of relevance.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland through 101, quoting incident number 2066 of Thursday, 19 August, 2021.”
