Robbery - Chryston, North Lanarkshire
Police are appealing for information following a robbery in Chryston, North Lanarkshire on Sunday, 1 August, 2021.
Around 10.15 pm on Sunday night, a 47-year-old man was walking along Cumbernauld Road, near to its junction with Crowwood Terrace, when he was attacked and pushed to the ground by a man who stole personal items and his mobile phone.
The suspect is described as white, 5ft8 in height, in his late 20s/early 30s, of average build, with short blonde hair and was clean shaven. He was wearing a black tracksuit and white trainers and spoke with a local accent.
Detective Constable Emma Macfarlane, Coatbridge CID said:
"The suspect ran off towards Crowwood Road after the attack. At the moment we have no motive for what happened other than a robbery and it has left the man, who thankfully was not seriously injured, very shaken by what happened.
"This area of Cumbernauld Road, even at 10.15pm at night, can be busy with traffic, so I am appealing to anyone who was driving nearby, especially those with dash-cam footage, to contact police.
"We believe the suspect had been walking from a nearby hotel, so again, if you were in Cumbernauld Road near Crowwood Terrace and saw the attack or the suspect, then please call officers via 101 quoting reference number 3801 of Sunday, 1 August, 2021.
