Police Scotland in Crieff to move to shared offices with Perth and Kinross Council next month
Police Scotland’s new police office at James Square in Crieff, Perth and Kinross is nearing completion and will open in September 2021.
There will be no change to the current delivery of service in the area however the former station in King Street will permanently close, as part of Police Scotland's estates strategy to co-locate and integrate more fully with partner organisations.
Local Area Commander Chief Inspector Graham Binnie explains: “In an effort to make the most efficient use of our estate it was agreed that we would relocate the Crieff Police Station, entering a new and exciting era of closer partnership working with the local authority as part of Police Scotland’s estates strategy.
“Integrating with public service partners in shared facilities not only allows greater collaborative working but also helps to reduce our carbon footprint and helps to reduce the long term costs of maintaining the town’s public sector buildings.
“Staff will gradually move from the old to the new office in Crieff over the next few weeks. The new Police Scotland entrance will be located next to Perth and Kinross Council’s main reception within James Square, Crieff.
“We are committed to providing a high standard of service to the community and the move to Crieff’s council buildings will not change our operational policing response. The public will continue to receive the same level of service they have previously experienced.
“Our staff and officers are looking forward to this new start in the new offices, working more efficiently with our local authority partners, and building on the existing strong links we have developed over the years.”
Councillor Bob Brawn, Perth & Kinross Council’s Housing and Communities Convenor said: “The co-location with Police Scotland within our Crieff Area Office will allow for closer working between our existing Housing Services and Health and Social Care partnership staff. This will not only strengthen existing partnerships and identify areas for shared improvement but will also allow greater focus on prevention and early intervention. “
