A man has died following a road traffic collision on the A79 Prestwick Loop Road, in Ayrshire on Friday, 13 August, 2021.
Around 11.20pm, a man was struck by a silver Skoda Octavia travelling south on the A79. Emergency services attended, however the 42-year-old man died at the scene. The driver of the car, was uninjured, but has been left badly shaken by the incident.
Any relevant CCTV footage will be viewed for any additional information it could provide.
The road was closed for several hours as collision investigators conducted enquiries at the scene.
Sergeant Scott Sutherland of Police Scotland’s Road Policing Department said: “Our enquiries so far have established an Audi motor car was on the road at the time of the incident, however, the driver may not have realised a collision has occurred. I am appealing to the driver of that car to contact us as we work to establish the full circumstances of the incident.
“In particular, if any motorists have dash cam devices, please check your footage as it could assist our investigation. Any small piece of information is relevant to our inquiry.”
