Car owners urged to be vigilant after spate of thefts in West Lothian
Officers are urging car owners to be vigilant after three cars have been stolen in West Lothian.
Three Ford Focus RS models have been targets for criminals recently.
The incidents have happened between Thursday, 29 July and Tuesday, 17 August, 2021 in Bathgate and Linlithgow.
Detective Sergeant John Irvine of West Lothian CID said :
‘‘These cars were stolen without using the true key and we are continuing enquiries to trace the vehicles. I would like to take this opportunity to remind car owners to take the time and effort to protect your car from being stolen. Please ensure that your car is always locked when left unattended – no matter how short or long a time that is. If you can, keep your car in a garage. Try storing your keys in a metal tin as this blocks the devices that criminals are using to steal your car.
“Anyone who has information that can assist our enquiries or knows who is responsible should contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting 0548 of 17 August, 2021."
