Appeal after 18-year-old woman dies in A9 crash
Road policing officers in Tayside are appealing for information following a fatal crash on A9 at Birnam involving two vehicles.
The crash happened around 4.50pm on Monday, 2 August, 2021 and an 18 year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her next of kin have been informed.
The woman who died was the driver of a blue Hyundai i10 in collision with a grey VW Golf.
The road is currently closed with local diversions in place.
Road Policing Constable Scott Power said: “Our thoughts are very much with the family and friends of the woman who sadly lost her life.
“A full investigation into the cause of the crash is underway as it is vital that we piece together what happened. I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash, or who may have seen the vehicles on the road shortly before to come forward. We would also like to hear from you if you have dash-cam footage, you may have captured something that could assist our enquiries.
"The road is currently closed to traffic with local diversions in place and I would like thank motorists for their patience while we carry out enquiries into the crash.
“Anyone with information should call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 2469 of Monday, 2 August, 2021.”
