Update - suspicious fires at HMP Kilmarnock

Following on from our appeal after a number of vehicles were set on fire at HMP Kilmarnock on Friday, 23 April, 2021, we can confirm that a 32-year-old man has been reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

Enquiries to establish the full circumstances of what happened when six cars were damaged within the prison car park around 7.25pm continue and officers are appealing for anyone with information to get in touch.

In particular, detectives are keen to speak to anyone who saw a black Ford Mondeo estate in the area at the time and anyone with dash-cam footage that might help the investigation.
