Detectives are continuing enquiries after a Citroen C4 car was traced burnt out in Glasgow.
Officers believe the vehicle is the same car as the one which sped off from police and ended up driving down the wrong way on the M77 on Saturday, 24 April, 2021.
Around 2pm on Saturday, a white Citroen C4 motor vehicle was deliberately set on fire in Craigmaddie Road, near to its junction with Strathblane Road.
Enquiries carried out so far have revealed a man was seen running from the Citroen after it had been set alight towards a light coloured VW Golf car. There is a limited description of the man, who is around 5 ft. 10 to 5 ft. 11 inches in height, with a slim build. He was wearing khaki coloured trousers and a long sleeved top. He gets into the Golf which then makes its way north on Craigmaddie Road.
Detective Inspector Steven Watson said: “We believe this is the vehicle which made off from officers yesterday in Finnieston Road. We continue to piece together all the information we have on these incidents and we know members of the public were in the area at the time this car was set alight, I would appeal to those members of the public to contact us. Any small detail or piece of information could assist us in our enquiries. I would also ask motorists driving on Craigmaddie Road or Strathblane Road between 1.45pm and 2.15pm yesterday afternoon to check their dash cam footage, they may have an image which could assist our investigation.”
Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 1995 of 24 April, 2021. Alternatively, please get in touch with Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, where you can your information anonymously.
