The man has now been identified as Craig Shaw, and his family have been made aware.
Detective Chief Inspector Cameron Miller of the Major Investigation Team said: "A murder inquiry has now been launched to identify the person or people responsible for the death of Mr Shaw.
“Officers are carrying out door to door enquiries in the Jedworth Road area, and the property has been cordoned off while crime scene officers undertake meticulous examinations. These officers will remain in the local area should the public have any concerns.
“I would ask them to support our ongoing investigation by getting in touch if they have any information at all that could assist us.

“If anyone remembers seeing or speaking to Mr Shaw, please contact us.
