Falkirk man jailed for series of sexual offences
Police Scotland has welcomed the sentencing of Adam Docherty, 22, at the High Court in Glasgow today (Friday, 16 April), for multiple sexual and violent offences.
Docherty, from Falkirk, has been sentenced to six years imprisonment and has been placed on the Sex Offender’s Register.
He had been found guilty last month for his crimes, which were committed against three women between 2017-2018.
Detective Inspector Yvonne O'Rourke at Forth Valley Division Public Protection Unit said: “It is clear that Adam Docherty is a violent and dangerous man, who showed no remorse or thought for his victims during or following his vile actions.
“Had it not been for the courage of the victims coming forward, his crimes may have gone unanswered for. I would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their bravery in providing us with statements and testifying in court.
“This conviction should send out a clear message that Police Scotland is committed to bringing the perpetrators of sexual offences to justice, while providing all the relevant support and assistance to those that require it.”
