Delivery driver assaulted in Gartcosh
Officers are appealing for information after a man was assaulted on Saturday, 18 April, 2021.
Around 11.15am, a delivery driver was in Gartloch Avenue, Gartcosh when a car overtook his van and stopped in front of him, preventing him from driving forward. A man got out of the car, a Mitsubishi Pajero, and approached the van. He assaulted the van driver through the open window before leaving and driving off. The van driver sustained a facial injury but did not require medical treatment.
The suspect is white, around 5 ft. 8 – 9 inches in height, with a brown beard. He was wearing dark coloured clothing and a beanie hat. The registration of the Mitsubishi is L300 DTC.
Officers are checking CCTV footage for any additional information which could assist the investigation.
Constable Richard Lewis said: “This has been an unprovoked attack on a going about his working day, delivering parcels. I am appealing to members of the public who were in the area around the time of the incident who may have seen this incident or recognises the car to contact us. Any small piece of information could be crucial in our enquiries so please do get in touch.”
