Attempted murder, Henderson Street, Paisley
Detectives are appealing for information following an attempted murder which occurred in Paisley on Wednesday, 28 April.
Around 6.35pm a 30-year-old man was with another man on Henderson street, near to the junction with Brown Street, when three men jumped out from a close and proceeded to attack him with weapons.
The suspects, who were all white and wearing dark clothing, ran off from the scene. Members of the public came to the aid of the victim and called emergency services.
The victim was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital for treatment to serious head injuries. Medical staff describe his condition as serious but stable.
Detective Inspector Ian Ross from Paisley CID said: “From enquiries carried out so far, we believe this may have been a pre-planned and targeted attack on the victim, which has left him with serious injuries.
“The incident happened in a busy residential area, with lots of flats overlooking the street, and it is likely that people will have witnessed what happened.
“I am appealing for anyone who was nearby and saw the assault take place, or noticed anything at all suspicious, to please get in touch.
