Appeal for witnesses following serious road crash, A737
Police in Glasgow are appealing for witnesses following a serious road crash near Johnstone.
The crash happened about 9.30pm on Saturday, 24 April, on the A737 between Johnstone and Linwood and involved a blue Kawasaki motorbike which was travelling on the southbound carriageway and a blue Dacia Sandero Stepway car which was travelling on the northbound carriageway.
The motorcyclist, a 22-year-old man, suffered serious injuries and was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he remains.
The driver and sole occupant of the Dacia Sandero Stepway, a 55-year-old woman, was uninjured.
Officers closed the road for several hours to allow for a collision investigation to be carried out at the scene and it was reopened around 3.20am on Sunday, 25 April.
Sergeant John Bradford of Police Scotland’s Road Policing Unit said: “Our enquiries into the cause of the crash are continuing and I would urge anyone who saw what happened, and has not yet spoken to officers, to come forward.
“I would also ask motorists who were using the A737 last night and either saw the vehicles involved, or that may have been recording via dash-cam to check their systems and provide any relevant footage to us as soon as possible.”
