Appeal following fatal road crash on A706 Wilsontown, near Forth
Road Policing officers in Lanarkshire are appealing for information and witnesses following a fatal road crash at Wilsontown, which took place yesterday (Saturday, 3 April).
The incident happened around 4.30pm on the A706, at the junction with Pleasance Row, and involved a black BMW car and a black Suzuki motorbike. As a result of the crash, the 53-year-old female motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the crash, and released pending further enquiries.
Constable Gemma Blackadder, from Police Scotland’s Road Policing Unit, said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the deceased at this time, as they come to terms with their tragic loss.
“Our investigation into this incident remain ongoing and we are asking for anyone with information to please come forward.
“We are aware that there were a number of people at the scene of the crash, so if you did witness anything and have yet to speak to police, please call 101, quoting incident 2695 of 3 April. We are also keen to hear from anyone in the area who may have potential dashcam footage or CCTV, which could assist our enquiries.”
