Appeal following assault in Bellshill, North Lanarkshire
Police in Lanarkshire are appealing for information following a report of a 23-year-old woman being assaulted in Bellshill.
The incident happened around 1.05pm on Friday, 18 September, near to Hamilton Road at the junction with Blackmoss Drive.
The woman had been walking from the lane that leads from Liberty Road towards Strachan Street when a man approached her and officers are asking anyone who may have been nearby at the time to get in touch.
In particular they are keen to speak to anyone who can help identify a man described as white, about 5ft 11ins of medium build, with short dark hair and aged around 25. He was wearing a grey hoodie and blue jeans.
Detective Sergeant Derrick Lunan, of Wishaw CID, said: “Our enquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances of what happened and I would urge anyone who may have information that will assist our investigation to come forward.
