Man charged following £500,000 drugs recovery, Lanarkshire
Police Scotland has charged a man following the recovery of cocaine with a potential street value of £500,000 in Lanarkshire.
Reacting to intelligence, officers stopped a vehicle around 3.30pm on Wednesday, 21 October, 2020, on the M74 near Lesmahagow.
A 57-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with drug offences and was due to appear at Lanark Sheriff Court on Thursday, 22 October, 2020.
Detective Superintendent Craig Willison said: “We will use all the tools available to us to disrupt the illegal supply of drugs in our communities and remove those involved from our streets.
“The public plays a vital role in helping us to do this and I would encourage anyone who has concerns or information relating to drug activity and those involved in cultivation and supply to contact Police Scotland on 101 or to make a call anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
