Wilful fireraising in Storie Street in Paisley
Detectives at Paisley are appealing for information after a fire was set outside a block of flats in Paisley on Tuesday, 10 November, 2020.
Around 5.05am on Thursday morning, emergency services were called to a report of a fire set outside flats in Storie Street at George Street, Paisley.
The fire was extinguished by Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.
Detectives are treating the fire as wilful.
Detective Constable Jamie Howarth at Paisley Police Station said: “Luckily no one was injured as a result of this fire, however the consequences of such a reckless act could have been much more serious.
“We have been carrying out enquiries in the area and studying CCTV footage from in and around the local area to gather more information.
“I would appeal to anyone who witnessed anyone acting suspiciously in the area of Storie Street at George Street early on Thursday morning, or anyone who has information that will assist this investigation to contact Paisley Police Station through 101 quoting reference number 0323 of 10 November. Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 111 555, where anonymity can be maintained.”
