Wilful fire-raising at derelict school, Inverurie Road, Aberdeen
Detectives are appealing for information following a fire at a derelict primary school in Aberdeen on Wednesday, 11 November, 2020.
Emergency services were called to the building in Inverurie Road around 9.55pm on Wednesday night.
Following initial investigations by the police and fire services, it is believed that the fire was started deliberately.
Extensive enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
Detective Inspector Jackie Knight from Aberdeen CID said: “Whilst investigations are at an early stage, this appears to be deliberate and reckless act and I am appealing for anyone with information about what happened to come forward.
“I would urge anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident who perhaps noticed people in the immediate area of the school, or anything at all suspicious, to get in touch.
