Cyclist named following fatal road crash near Cardross, Helensburgh
Officers are appealing for witnesses and information following a fatal road crash on Tuesday, 10 November, 2020.
Around 4.40pm, police received a report of a road traffic collision involving a cyclist and a car on the A814, half a mile west of Cardross. Emergency services attended and the 40-year-old male cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
He can be named as Colin McCourt from Dumbarton.
Officers are appealing for any witnesses to the incident. A number of vehicles stopped to provide assistance and police are asking any of those witnesses, who have yet to speak to police, to contact them. In particular, officers are appealing for anyone with dash cam to check their footage as it may have captured footage which could assist our enquiries.
The road was closed for several hours as crash scene investigators conducted enquiries.

A 44-year-old man has been arrested in connection with road traffic offences. He appeared at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on Wednesday, 11 November, 2020.
