Appeal after cyclist injured in crash near Troon
Police in Ayrshire are appealing for witnesses after a cyclist was seriously injured in a road crash on the A78.
The incident happened around 10.35am on Sunday, 29 November on the A78 northbound near to Loans.
The collision involved the bicycle and a Vauxhall Vivara van.
The 40-year-old female cyclist was taken to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock for treatment to serious injuries.
The driver of the van was uninjured.
Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and officers are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
Constable Gordon Stewart of the Road Policing Unit in Irvine said: "We would be keen to speak to anyone who was driving on the A78 around that time on Sunday morning to get in touch if you saw the collision or either the cyclist or the van beforehand.
"We would be especially keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam footage.
"Anyone with information can call 101, quoting incident 1173 of 29 November."
