Man arrested in connection with serious sexual assault

Police in Lanarkshire can confirm that a 25-year-old man has been arrested following the report of a serious sexual assault in Bothwell. 

The incident took place between 5.45pm and 7.30pm on Wednesday, 20 May, 2020 when a teenage girl was approached by a man who sexually assaulted her near to the Clyde Walkway.
Enquiries remain ongoing.
