Fatal road crash - M8, Glasgow

A 41 year-old man has died following a road crash on the M8 motorway in Glasgow on Wednesday, 4 March, 2020.
Around 7.25pm on Wednesday evening, the 41 year-old man was walking on the M8 eastbound carriageway near to on slip from the M77, when he was struck by a Vauxhall Astra being driven by a 36 year-old man.
Police and ambulance attended, however the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Vauxhall Astra was uninjured.
A full report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
Sergeant Jon Mochan from Glasgow’s Road Policing Unit based at Helen Street said: “I am appealing for any witnesses to the crash to contact us, or anyone who seen a man walking on the motorway, as they may have information that will assist our investigation. I am also keen to hear from any drivers who were on the road at the time who have dash-cam footage. This footage will also assist our ongoing enquiries into this crash.”
