Appeal for witnesses following fatal road crash in Hamilton

Police in Lanarkshire are appealing for information following a fatal road crash involving a pedestrian in Hamilton.
The incident happened around 7.35pm on Sunday, January 5, 2020, when a silver Seat Ibiza struck a man on Glasgow Road, Burnbank.
The 47-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Emergency services attended and the road was closed for around seven hours to allow investigations to take place.
Sergeant Andy Shearer, of Lanarkshire Road Policing, said: “Our thoughts go out to the family of the victim and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
“I would ask that anyone who may have been in the area at the time and witnessed the collision to get in contact.
“I would also urge anyone with dashcam footage that may assist with our investigation to come forward to police.”
