Two men charged in connection with death in Kirkintilloch

Around 8am on Saturday, 22 August, 2020, a 29-year-old man was seriously assaulted within a flat in Braehead Street, Kirkintilloch. He was taken to hospital following the incident where he died on Monday, 25 August.

Two men, aged 31 and 28, have been charged in connection with the incident.

The man can be named as Robert Cunningham from Kirkintilloch.

Detective Inspector Steven Watson, of Kirkintilloch CID, said: “Our thoughts are with Robert’s family and friends at this time.

“Following an investigation led by detectives, we were able to charge two men in connection with this incident.”

The two men are due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court today (Tuesday, 25 August).

A third man, aged 35, has also been arrested in connection with the incident.
