Wilful fire-raising in Pollokshields, Glasgow

Detectives at Cathcart Police Office are appealing for information after a car was set on fire in Pollokshields on Wednesday, 22 April, 2020.

Around 10pm on Wednesday evening, officers were called to a report of a BMW 1 series car being set on Maxwell Drive, Pollokshields. 

Detective Sergeant Alan Ferguson at Cathcart Police Office said: “We have been carrying out enquiries in the area of Maxwell Drive, and gathering CCTV footage to find out more information on this fire and to trace whoever is responsible.

“There was no one in the vehicle at the time and luckily no one was injured by the fire, however those responsible for this crime must be caught.  I am asking people in Maxwell Drive around the time the fire was set, who witnessed anything that may help our investigation to contact us as soon as possible.

“Anyone with information, or anyone driving in the area who has dash-cam footage is asked to phone Cathcart Police Office through 101 quoting reference number 4139 of 22 April.  Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
