The Philomena Protocol
The Philomena protocol was launched force wide on Thursday, 25 May, 2023 to coincide with International Missing children’s day
The protocol is now widely used and is a bolt on to the Not at Home protocol.
The Philomena comprises of a downloadable standardised form that carers use to collate all relevant information in relation to each individual child or young person.
It utilises a person centred approach as each child and young person are consulted and encourage to have an input in the completion of the form.
The form is held by the child or young person’s carer and given to the Police in the event of that they go missing.
