Agricultural Movements
The Chief Constable of Police Scotland may also dispense with the need to notify repeated movements of agricultural loads.
If you are a farmer and move agricultural vehicles and machinery on public roads, you should apply for an annual dispensation.
We can only consider Agricultural Dispensations up to 4.3mtrs in overall width (including implements). We can only permit a maximum travelling radius of up to 20 miles from the applicant’s operating base.
Farmers, when applying for a dispensation, should detail the measurements of their largest implement rather than having to list all implements on their application form.
The measurements should be taken from the widest and longest point including any mirrors, overhangs, etc.
Please use this link to download the Agricultural Dispensation Application Form.
We accept application forms by email or post. It can be emailed to us at OSDAbnormalLoadsScotland@scotland.police.uk.
It can be posted to the Abnormal Loads Team at Detroit Road, Glenrothes, KY8 2RJ.
We will respond using the same form of communication as we received your application. A blank application form can be posted to you upon request.
