How to Become a Supplier
Across Police Scotland, there are over 500 live contracts with a total estimated value of c. £800m. Police Scotland spends around £200m annually on goods, services and works, in order to support policing, improve safety and wellbeing of people, places and communities throughout Scotland.
Police Scotland offers support to companies who wish to become a supplier by providing information on our procurement process. Below you can find links to; current contracts, upcoming opportunities and the regulations that govern the process.
Bid to become a supplier
Police Scotland trades under the Scottish Police Authority (SPA). Current and upcoming regulated tender notices are published on Public Contracts Scotland (PCS) where you can note interest and bid. Potential suppliers may sign up to email alerts on tender opportunities related to their company. This portal gives free access to contract opportunities in Scotland and offers help and support.
Frameworks and collaborative partners
Police Scotland and the SPA are required to review existing government or collaborative frameworks that could achieve best value before undergoing a further competitive tender process. Currently, we collaborate with the framework providers below;
- Scotland Excel
Scotland Excel is the Centre of Procurement Expertise for the Scottish local government sector.
- Scottish Procurement
Scottish Procurement provided by the Scottish Government provides a variety of collaborative contracts that are accessible by the local government sector.
Procurement regulations
In Scotland, regulated procurements are governed by the following legislation
- The Procurement Reform (Scotland) Act 2014
- The Public Contracts (Scotland) Regulations 2015
- The Procurement (Scotland) Regulations 2016
